Safeguarding at Tavistock Montessori Pre-School
The nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All of our staff and committee are DBS (Disclosure and Barring service) checked. This was formerly known as a CRB check.
We have comprehensive policies and procedures in the setting, which are available for you to refer to if you so wish.
In addition to this, there is a separate safeguarding folder containing the model Devon safeguarding policy for our setting and comprehensive literature relevant to safeguarding.
The safeguarding policy document is always available to read.
Please speak to a member of staff if you have any questions regarding safeguarding. Policies are available for all to read, however, the file must remain on the premises and cannot be taken home. Staff will photocopy any policies if requested.
Our notice board also has up to date information and telephone numbers relating to safeguarding.
Any incident which, in our view, is a safeguarding matter will be documented and kept on file with relevant safeguarding teams advised. This information is always shared with parents unless this would be detrimental to the child concerned. If a MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) referral were to be made, implied consent would be required.
Stephanie Credicott is the Designated Safeguarding Officer for the setting
and Haley Shaw, Helen Peacham and Melanie Credicott are all trained in safeguarding (level 3).
